Crime Victim Assistance Coordinator funding announcement

The Office of the Attorney General is pleased to announce a grant opportunity, the Victim Coordinator Liaison Grant, which may benefit your organization. Eligible applicants who complete the registration and application process may be awarded up to $42,000 per year for the next biennium, September 1, 2011 through August 31, 2013.
The Victim Coordinator Liaison Grant program’s purpose is to fund mandated positions described in the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, Article 56.04 and 56.02, specifically Victim Assistance Coordinators in prosecutor offices and Crime Victim Liaisons in law enforcement agencies.  The intent of these grant funds are to encourage victims to cooperate with law enforcement and prosecution by providing essential information about the criminal justice system, social service referrals, and post adjudication process.  The funds are also used to promote and educate the community and other professionals about victim rights and services in an effort to identify crime victims and provide the needed services.
To apply for this grant opportunity, visit the Office of the Attorney General website at on or after February 11, 2011 to register before the deadline at 5:00p.m. CST, on Monday, March 14, 2011.  After completing registration, download the application and submit it via the acceptable manner and format by 5:00p.m. CST, Friday, April 1, 2011.
