Defendants who present with mental health needs are a common occurrence. When appropriate, the criminal justice system is uniquely situated to address those needs with an eye toward future crime prevention. The Sequential Intercept Model is a guide that has been implemented with success to target this population of defendants and achieve just results for those defendants and the communities in which they reside.
In this recorded training course, Travis Parker of Policy Research Associates will introduce attendees to the Sequential Intercept Model. Then, Rob Kepple, TDCAA Executive Director, and Jason Steans, ACA in Travis County, discuss the intercept points and how those points are practically applied.
This course is available online for a limited time and provides 2.5 MCLE hours. The cost is $25.00.
