Newly-Elected Prosecutor Boot Camp 2020

Unfortunately, we have postponed our live Newly-Elected Boot Camp.  The surge in COVID-19 cases has caused another round of travel restrictions and limitations on gatherings in Travis County, and we think that following the guidelines and protecting everyone’s health is most important in these times.  Sorry for the inconvenience!  We will be re-scheduling the live training, so stay tuned!

In the meantime, we want to make sure those registered have some essential information and plenty of lifelines as you prepare to take office. As we speak, we are working on a Zoom training for you on the essentials along with a discussion forum to answer your questions.  We will get that Zoom training ready and scheduled as soon as possible.

In addition, all of the materials for the Boot Camp are available to you now here.  We urge you to look through the presentations so we can answer any questions you may have when we have the discussion forum!  And please remember to cancel any travel or hotel arrangements made unless TDCAA made those arrangements for you.

Thanks again for your understanding. We can’t wait to meet everyone in person when we can reschedule the live follow-up training!  Questions?  Please email [email protected].

TDCAA is proud to welcome all just-elected county and district attorneys to its biennial Newly Elected Prosecutor Boot Camp. You will receive 6.5 hours of MCLE for attending the course, which we offer free of charge. Here, elected prosecutors will learn the “meat and potatoes” of what they need to know upon taking office January 1, 2021, from their peers—other elected prosecutors who have been in the same shoes and can pass along wisdom and good counsel. You won’t want to miss this valuable two-day event.

This year’s boot camp will be held in Austin at the Westin Domain. To make reservations at the $109 group rate, call (512) 832-4197 and mention TDCAA. To book online using TDCAA’s reservation page, click here. Rates are available until November 12th or until the block is sold out, whichever comes first.

TDCAA will reimburse only eligible prosecutors and prosecutor office employees up to $94 per night for up to a two nights’ stay at a hotel.  Due to the increase in hotel reimbursement, TDCAA will no longer reimburse for meals.  Additionally, TDCAA will not reimburse for travel, registration fees, hotel tax, parking, taxi costs, or other extraordinary expenses. All other expenses are your own.

This boot camp is by invitation only.
