TDCAA’s Board of Directors has called a Special Meeting of the Association for the purpose of adopting new bylaws.

Background

TDCAA operates under bylaws last amended in September of 2010, prior to the adoption of new technology and new practices not contemplated under those bylaws. In response, TDCAA President Brian Middleton appointed a Bylaws Revision Committee in January of 2026 to modernize the Association’s bylaws. That committee’s work was presented to the Board of Directors on June 26, 2026. The Board approved proposed revisions at that meeting and called for a Special Meeting of the Association to allow the regular membership of the Association to vote on adopting the proposed bylaws.

Special Meeting

A Special Meeting of the Association for the purpose of adopting those proposed bylaws will take place on Wednesday, September 16, at 5:00 p.m. at the Waco Convention Center in Waco, Texas, during our Annual Criminal and Civil Law Conference.

At this meeting, dues-paying elected and assistant prosecutors may vote on the adoption of these proposed bylaws. The vote at the Special Meeting will be a straight up-or-down choice; no amendments or changes from the floor will be accepted. The final decision on that issue will determined by a show of hands. If approved, the bylaws will take effect immediately.
