SAN PATRICIO COUNTY ATTORNEY
POSITION: Assistant County Attorney for the prosecution of CPS cases
STARTING SALARY: $100,000.00 annually
Salary commensurate with experience

QUALIFICATIONS:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant legal experience preferred
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and court operations
- Knowledge of the Family Code and Rules of Civil Procedure
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate, file, and prosecute CPS cases from intake to trial and appeal.
- Collaborate with CPS employees, victims, law enforcement, and defense counsel to ensure fair and just outcomes.
- Conduct legal research, draft motions, and make courtroom appearances for hearings and trials.
- Exercise sound discretion to seek justice over conviction, balancing accountability with fairness.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards in all actions and decisions.
The CPS Prosecutor shall provide back-up assistance to the functions of the County Attorney, including assisting with Juvenile cases, Bail Bond Forfeitures, Mental Commitments, prosecution of Adult Misdemeanor cases, including case in the Justice of the Peace Court. Additionally, all Assistant County Attorneys may be required to assist with other functions and duties within the office as assigned by the County Attorney.
