JOB TITLE: Assistant Criminal District Attorney, Misdemeanor Prosecutor
JOB SUMMARY: This position requires a thorough knowledge of all phases of criminal prosecution and law enforcement procedures; is responsible for the prosecution of adult misdemeanor offenders in the County Court at Law. This individual will have daily contact with the public and is responsible for assisting the Criminal District Attorney with trying cases and handling all criminal law matters. This position also attempts to ensure that criminals are properly prosecuted based upon given facts and application to current law. This position is also responsible for review and handling Protective Orders.
*Salary will be commensurate with experience.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and a J.D. (law) degree are required. The individual must have a Texas Law license and be in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. The individual should possess a thorough working knowledge of law enforcement and court procedures and practices. Prior prosecution experience is preferred but not required. Must pass criminal background check and take/pass drug screen. Must have valid TX driver’s license and be insurable by Comal County Insurance provider.
SALARY: Pay Group E12 – Starting at $74,275.32/annually, salary will be commensurate with experience.
