The Chambers County District Attorney is seeking a licensed Texas attorney for a Felony Prosecutor position which is available immediately. Newly licensed attorneys or July 2023 bar examinees interested in working on a third-year bar card under a supervising attorney are encouraged to apply.
Illustrative duties include carrying a felony caseload and handling all aspects of felony prosecution from initial screening through trial. Special consideration will be given to applicants interested in prosecuting family violence and sexual assault cases. New ADAs will be trained by experienced prosecutors with the goal of being able to able to handle an active criminal docket with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited law school, currently licensed to practice law and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas or eligible to obtain licensure by reciprocity. Priority will be given to applicants with Criminal Internship experience in a County or District Attorney’s Office or another prosecution office. Applicant must be a team player who can work well in a small office and be willing to learn. Must be able to work well with law enforcement. Must be familiar with the criminal justice system and have the ability to work within all components. Must have a demonstrated history of community involvement.
Chambers County is one of the fastest growing areas in the State of Texas. Located approximately 45 minutes east of Houston. Our office is an easy drive to and from Houston, in a great small town on the coast.
Annual Salary: $80,000. Negotiable depending upon experience
