The Cameron County District Attorney’s Office is in immediate need of a new Assistant District Attorney. The selected candidate will be assigned to litigate cases on behalf of the State of Texas.
The Cameron County District Attorney’s Office is the state prosecuting authority for Cameron County, Texas. The office oversees the prosecution of all state-level crimes from traffic citations to capital murder in the 10 Justice Courts, 4 County Courts at Law, and 9 District Courts.
A qualified candidate must have graduated from an accredited U.S. Law School and either be in good standing with the Texas State Bar or in the process of sitting for admission.
A Starting salary is $85,000 and this amount may increase based on experience. Benefits include 2 weeks of annual personnel leave, 2 weeks of annual sick leave, health insurance, a pension (matched at 2.5 to 1), paid bar dues, and paid CLE/conferences.
Our current prosecutors have a range of experience between 0 and 50+ years. All attorneys (including the elected) keep an open door policy and value the opportunity to mentor and teach young prosecutors.
