Work Environment:

The Grimes County District Attorney’s Office prosecutes felony and misdemeanor cases.

The Grimes County District Attorney’s Office is seeking an experienced prosecutor with a passion for trying cases and seeking justice for our citizens. We strive to maintain strong working relationships with our law enforcement agencies and the community to achieve justice for our citizens.

The office is in the heart of the Brazos Valley between Houston and College Station. The county seat is Anderson about 23 miles southeast of College Station, 26 miles west of Lake Conroe, 48 miles from Conroe/The Woodlands, 30 miles from Magnolia, approximately 30 miles from Huntsville and Waller County, Texas, and 70 miles from northwest Houston. We are surrounded by Montgomery, Walker, Waller (the fastest growing county in Texas), Brazos, Washington, and Madison Counties.

Minimum Requirements:

Preferred experience is 2 years as a Texas prosecutor or equivalent position; minimum requirement is one year as a Texas prosecutor or equivalent position. J.D. from an accredited law school, currently licensed by the State Bar. You must pass a criminal background check and pass a drug test.

Job Duties:

Managing and prosecuting felonies from intake through trial or other disposition and advising law enforcement officers in criminal matters. Applicants must have a professional attitude, be an effective communicator, and have the ability to multi-task.  Candidates should have superior communications skills, the ability to manage a docket of active cases and consistently satisfy deadlines in the face of competing time demands are essential functions of the position. Candidates should be proficient in electronic legal research. The selected candidate should be able to demonstrate these skills and perform these functions with minimal direction from the District Attorney. Ability to work well with others in the office and law enforcement is required.

Starting salary is  between 105, 000 to 110,000.00 depending on experience. We offer a benefit package of medical, retirement, payment for annual State Bar dues and CLE.
