Madison County District Attorney’s Office is looking for an Assistant District Attorney to Prosecute Felony cases.
About Our Office
Madisonville, Texas is located approximately 35 minutes east of College Station, Texas, 1 hour north of The Woodlands, Texas and 2 hours south of Dallas. Texas. Madison County is a family oriented and growing community located on Interstate 1-45. The Madison County District Attorney’s office is a Criminal District Attorney’s Office. We are responsible for prosecuting all Felony, Misdemeanor, Juvenile, and Justice of the Peace cases. We handle protective orders and advise Commissioners Court and county officials.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Felony Assistant District attorney will primarily be responsible for prosecuting and trying Felony cases. This position is for a prosecutor who has tried felony cases. This position will be responsible for case evaluation and preparation, rendering legal advice, reviewing warrants, and representing the State in prosecutions. The Felony Assistant District Attorney will be expected try Felony cases, to contact victims, work with law enforcement, negotiate pleas with defense attorneys, and prepare appellate trial briefs.
Qualifications & Benefits
Applicant must be licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. Experience as a Felony prosecutor with Felony Trial experience preferred. Benefits include MCLE costs, Bar dues, Health Insurance, Retirement benefits, paid vacation, sick and Holiday pay. Salary is based on Experience.
