Assistant District Attorney – Felony
This felony-level position consists of prosecution of serious criminal cases on behalf of the State of Texas. Prosecutors are expected to investigate and evaluate facts involving criminal matters, make appropriate charging decisions, make plea offers, and try cases to juries.
The McLennan County District Attorney’s Office operates under a team-oriented philosophy. All prosecutors work closely with teammates in court, as well as receiving extensive guidance and training from senior prosecutors within the office.
The McLennan County District Attorney’s Office is a mid-sized office of approximately 35 lawyers with jurisdiction over both felony and misdemeanor criminal matters, as well as juvenile cases. McLennan County’s criminal trial dockets are very active and prosecutors gain extensive courtroom experience.
The District Attorney and the office’s senior staff are all experienced trial lawyers who emphasize training, teamwork, trial skills, and are building a culture of excellence in a young and energetic office.
Salary
Salary is up to $120,000 annually, depending on experience.

The McLennan County District Attorney’s Office pays prosecutors’ bar dues, dues for approved associations, and costs of approved continuing legal education.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and at least 7 years of legal experience.
