Assistant District Attorney, Felony Criminal Division- Ellis County & District Attorney’s Office
Ellis County & District Attorney, Lindy Beaty, is accepting applications for an experienced felony prosecutors. Located just south of Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex, Ellis County is rapidly growing while still trying to maintain a rural atmosphere.
The Ellis County & District Attorney’s Office, Felony Criminal Division, handles all felony case prosecutions from State Jail Felonies to Capital Murder. The positions will be filled based on experience and qualifications, with particular interest in any legal specialties.
Positions and Salary –
- ADA IV (Felony Prosecutor)
- Salary $146,268
Primary Duties
- Seek Justice on behalf of the State of Texas in all matters handled by the Ellis County & District Attorney’s Office.
- Manage an assigned caseload effectively and efficiently.
- Recognize and resolve complex legal issues related to criminal prosecution.
- Work closely with law enforcement agencies both within and outside of Ellis County.
- Communicate effectively with victims, defense attorneys, court personnel and witnesses.
- Interview victims, witnesses, law enforcement officers and experts before hearings or trial.
- Handle all in court hearings.
- Handle trials and all trial related matters.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have a JD from an accredited law school.
- License to practice law in the State if Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- At least 3 years prosecution experience or equivalent, with 1st Chair trial experience.
- Applicant must possess and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license.
- Applicant must be able to pass background investigation and drug testing upon request.
