JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT CRIMINAL DISTRICT ATTORNEY
SUPERVISOR: DISTRICT ATTORNEY / FIRST ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY / INTAKE DIVISION CHIEF
SUMMARY:
The Randall County Criminal District Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for an Intake position responsible for reviewing offenses involving Intimate Partner Violence and assisting as needed in the prosecution of offenses involving Intimate Partner Violence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice Law and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- Clean criminal history.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Represent The State of Texas in Intimate Partner Violence offenses handled by the Criminal District Attorney’s Office.
- Review cases presented for criminal charges by law enforcement agencies.
- Present felony Intimate Partner Violence offenses to the Grand Jury for their consideration.
- Ability to assess a criminal case and negotiate plea bargains with defendants and their attorneys.
- Attend court settings and hearings.
- Effectively communicate and maintain a working relationship with law enforcement officers, victims, witnesses, judges, supervisors, coworkers, and defense attorneys.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work in a high stress environment and perform several tasks at once.
- Work regular business hours (8-5) and any other hours before and after regular business hours as job requires.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The starting salary range is from $107,000 to $120,000 plus a full benefits package from Randall County, which includes paid holidays off, personal leave time, retirement, and other benefits in addition to health, life, dental, and vision insurance.
