Assistant District Attorney – Mental Illness Court – Attorney III
Position: Dallas County Assistant District Attorney – Mental Illness Court (Attorney III). This position is in the Civil Division of the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office.
Duties: Represents the state in civil mental health matters under Subtitle C of the Texas Health and Safety Code; preparation, trial, appeals, and other matters related to hearings for Court-Ordered Mental Health Services under Chapter 574 of the Texas Health and Safety Code; review and approve Motions for Order of Protective Custody pursuant to Subchapter B of Chapter 574 of the Texas Health and Safety Code; preparation, trial, appeals, and other matters related to hearings for Administration of Medication to Patient under Court Order for Mental Health Services pursuant to Subchapter G of Chapter 574 of the Texas Health and Safety Code, including hearings for court-ordered medication under Article 46B of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
Qualifications: Graduation from accredited law school; current license to practice law in the State of Texas; member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas; One (1) year experience practicing law; and must pass background check.
Annual Salary Range: $95,741.64 to $108,067.44 (commensurate with qualifications and experience) plus benefits.
