Madison County District Attorney’s Office is looking for an Assistant District Attorney to PROSECUTE MISDEMEANOR cases.
About Our Office
Madisonville, Texas is located approximately 35 minutes east of College Station, Texas, 1 hour north of The Woodlands, Texas and 2 hours south of Dallas. Texas. Madison County is a family oriented and growing community located on Interstate 1-45. The Madison County District Attorney’s office is a Criminal District Attorney’s Office. We are responsible for prosecuting all Felony, Misdemeanor, Juvenile, and Justice of the Peace cases. We handle protective orders and advise Commissioners Court and county officials.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Misdemeanor Assistant District attorney will primarily be responsible for prosecuting and trying misdemeanor cases, justice of the peace cases, juvenile cases, protective orders, asset forfeitures, Judgment NISI, attending and advising commissioner’s court, misdemeanor intake, and grand jury and felony cases as assigned. This position will be responsible for case evaluation and preparation, rendering legal advice, reviewing warrants, and representing the State in prosecutions. The Misdemeanor Assistant District Attorney will be expected to try misdemeanor cases, to contact victims, work with law enforcement, negotiate pleas with defense attorneys, and prepare appellate trial briefs.
