The District Attorney for the 18th Judicial District is accepting applications for an Assistant District Attorney for our Felony Trial Division.

  • Must have prior criminal trial experience, with a strong preference for felony trial experience.

Position:         Assistant District Attorney- Trial Attorney

Salary:            $110,000-$150,000 (depending on qualifications and experience) plus benefits.

Essential Duties / Functions:

  • Under the direction of the elected District Attorney, represent the State in all aspects of felony prosecution.
  • Applicants must have excellent communication skills, as well as writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Must be organized, able to work well under pressure, and handle multiple tasks.
  • Able to manage a high-volume caseload.
  • Must be self-motivated, with the ability to work independently in preparing and organizing cases for trial.
  • Must be able coordinate and working with outside Law Enforcement Agencies with the upmost respect and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of law.
  • Sufficient experience to understand the principles relevant to the major duties of the position, which would include criminal law and prior criminal trial experience.
  • Current membership in the State Bar of Texas
