POSITION TITLE: Attorney, Felony I
SALARY RANGE: $124,503.36 – $145,000.00 annually (Pay Group E15)

Position Overview:
This position requires comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of criminal prosecution and law enforcement procedures. It involves prosecuting adult felony offenders in the District Courts, maintaining daily contact with the public, and assisting the Criminal District Attorney with case trials and the handling of all criminal law matters. The role is also responsible for ensuring that prosecutions are conducted appropriately, based on the facts and the application of current law.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
- Three (3) years of experience as an attorney practicing criminal law
- Significant Felony Jury trail experience
- Must possess a thorough working knowledge of law enforcement and court procedures and practices
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Valid Texas driver’s license required for operating county vehicles
