About us: Bastrop County has a population of just under 100,000 and borders Travis County to the east. In 2023 the office indicted just under 500 felony cases. We practice in three criminal District Courts (21st, 335th and 423rd), with 2 of the courts being multi-county courts and one being a single county. We generally have a total of 2 criminal dockets per week and had approximately 20 felony jury trial weeks set last year.

The office is looking for an experienced and highly organized trial attorney with an extensive knowledge of criminal law and procedure.

Applicants must be able to assume immediate responsibility for an active caseload and trial docket. Good interpersonal and communication skills, and the desire and the ability to maintain a good working relationship with the County’s law enforcement agencies is a must.
