Felony Prosecutor position opening effective immediately.
Major duties include:
- Responsibility for low-level felony cases, including juvenile and revocation dockets.
- Handles low-level felony criminal (adult and juvenile) cases with minimal supervision from intake through trial.
- Performs a variety of complex, independent duties in conjunction with court trials, including performing discovery, evaluating legal theories and principles, performing research, etc.
- Prepares for and attends pre-trial hearings, arraignments, revocation hearings, and bond docket calls
- Negotiates pleas with defense attorneys
- Tries cases before jury or Judge.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited school of law
- Current membership and good standing in the State Bar of Texas
- 2 years experience as a prosecutor (or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities)
Salary: approximately $85,000-$100,000, including benefits, State Bar dues, and continuing legal education.
