The 33rd and 424th District Attorney’s Office is seeking a felony prosecutor to join a trial-intensive team serving Burnet, Blanco, Llano, and San Saba Counties—located adjacent to the Austin metropolitan area in the beautiful Texas Hill Country and Highland Lakes region. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive prosecutorial environment handling felony cases.
Our office regularly prosecutes a wide range of criminal offenses, offering Assistant District Attorneys significant courtroom exposure and trial experience. The ideal candidate will be a skilled litigator with a strong understanding of criminal law, experience managing felony dockets, and a demonstrated ability to try felony cases. Key Responsibilities:
- Review, evaluate, and prepare criminal cases for prosecution, including analyzing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and determining appropriate charges.
- Represent the State of Texas in pretrial hearings, plea negotiations, bench trials, and jury trials.
- Manage a full docket of cases, maintaining communication with law enforcement, victims, and opposing counsel.
- Advise law enforcement on legal issues relating to the investigative process.
- Work collaboratively with a team of prosecutors, investigators, and support staff to promote justice and uphold the law.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- High ethical standards and commitment to public service.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Compensation:
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience (Salary range: $99,673 – $113,713)
