The Hunt County District Attorney’s Office in Greenville, Texas is seeking an attorney experienced in criminal law for a Felony Prosecutor position.  Our location and smaller size make Hunt County the ideal place for a person wanting trial experience while being part of a supportive team instead of just another face in a large office.  The position will be available January 1, 2023, though this date is somewhat flexible.

Located in the fast-growing area east of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Hunt County offers a lower cost of living and smaller town atmosphere combined with quick access to the city.  Greenville lies along Interstate 30 and Highway 380, making trips to, or a commute from, Dallas and McKinney an easy 40-minute drive.

Job Description:

The position includes any and all aspects of felony prosecution from intake through trial and appeal.  We are a smaller office with five assistant prosecutors and our elected District Attorney.  Our prosecutors and staff help each other in all aspects of the job, including preparing cases for trial.  With a little guidance and assistance, the selected candidate should be ready and willing to try felony cases to a jury within two weeks to a month.

Minimum Qualifications:

Law Degree from an accredited law school; currently in good standing and licensed to practice law in the State of Texas; at least three (3) years criminal law experience.

Salary and Benefits:

The starting salary for the position is $97,141.00 annually.  Health insurance is provided to the employee and available to family for a cost.  Retirement benefits are provided through the Texas District and County Retirement System via automatic enrollment.  State Bar dues, Attorney Occupation Tax, TDCAA membership, and MCLE seminars will be all be paid for by the office.

To Apply:

Interested applicants should email a short cover letter, a resume, and a summary of courtroom/trial experience to [email protected].  Please send to the attention of Steve Lilley, Hunt County District Attorney’s Office.  We will contact qualified applicants for an in-person interview.
