Misdemeanor Prosecutor


The Criminal District Attorney’s Office in Harrison County has an opening for a Misdemeanor Prosecutor.  Primary responsibilities include the prosecution of Class A, B, and C misdemeanors, bond forfeitures, as well juvenile hearings.

Situated between Shreveport, LA (30 miles east) and Longview, TX (18 miles west), our office employs seven attorneys, two investigators and four members of support staff.  Because of the location and size of our office, prosecutors have a very active, versatile caseload, which allows prosecutors to gain meaningful experience in all aspects of criminal prosecution.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Must be currently licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and be in good standing with the State Bar.  Legal research skills preferred.  Selected applicant must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.

Starting salary approximately $55,000 (including benefits)

Office will provide training needed to maintain CLE certification at department approved conferences and/or seminars.
