This foundational course empowers prosecutors with the critical skills and proven strategies needed to effectively handle domestic violence cases – from initial review through trial and beyond. Designed for those new to domestic violence prosecution or seeking to strengthen their core competencies, the program offers a practical, experience-based framework for addressing the unique legal and ethical challenges these cases present. Through a dynamic blend of lectures, case studies, and interactive discussions, participants will gain the tools and confidence to see justice done ethically and effectively, promote victim safety, and achieve stronger case outcomes.
This training is free to attend, and open to all Elected Prosecutors and their staff. The course is designed for prosecutors, but would be appropriate for anyone who works in a District or County Attorney’s office and assists domestic violence victims.
6 hours of CLE credit will be awarded for this course. Future offerings may differ, but no TCOLE credit will be awarded for this event.
The training will occur at the Weatherford College, 3rd Floor of the Emerging Technologies & Workforce Solutions Building at 225 Park Drive, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
