Homicide Conference 2024

Online registration is now closed. However, walk-in registration will be available onsite.

Few cases come with the complexity, pressure, and expectation as those which have resulted in a person’s death. Whether currently trying these offenses or in anticipation of a future caseload, prosecutors should plan to attend TDCAA’s April Homicide Conference. The training will cover issues generally applicable to all homicide cases as well as provide a full day devoted individually to both Child Fatality and Intoxication Manslaughter cases. From analyzing defenses, evaluating evidence, and tips on advocacy, there will be something for every attendee presented by some of the best prosecutors in Texas.

$350 Registration ($175 Registration Fee + $175 Association fee): For CAs, DAs, CDAs, C&DAs, and their office personnel. The TDCAA fee of $175 is each participant’s share of costs over and above what the grant allows (for example, excess costs of on-site meals and association overhead). In addition, this fee enables TDCAA to lock in discounted hotel rates for participants and entitles them to attend all association functions, including receptions and lunches.

$175 “Training Only” Registration: For CAs, DAs, CDAs, C&DAs, and their office personnel. This fee does not allow an attendee to participate in receptions or lunches but entitles the attendee admittance to all training sessions.

$500 Registration: For everyone else.

The Homicide Conference will take place at the Hilton Houston North. To make reservations at the $124 group rate, click here to book online using TDCAA’s private reservation page, or call (866) 577-1154. If you’re calling in, you must mention group code TDCAA in order to get the discounted rate. Rates are available until March 25 or until the block is sold out, whichever comes first. This hotel offers a complimentary self-parking for overnight guests.

A password for materials will be sent to registered attendees one week prior to the event to download materials.

A QR code will also be provided at the conference to evaluate each talk and its presenter.

Standard Reimbursement Policy: TDCAA will reimburse only eligible prosecutors and prosecutor office employees up to the GSA rate per night for up to a three nights’ stay at a hotel. Due to the increase in hotel reimbursement, TDCAA will no longer reimburse for meals.  Additionally, TDCAA will not reimburse for travel, registration fees, hotel tax, parking, taxi costs, or other extraordinary expenses. All other expenses are your own.

Sponsors & Exhibitors: This registration is for attendees only. Please see exhibit and sponsorship opportunities below and email [email protected] for registration forms and payments.
